Everyone else has big news.

Last night at my Dungeons and Dragons game everyone else had big news. One is pregnant (or rather his wife is) and he has a new job. Another is about to do major renovations on his house which will basically double its size so they can have big parties. The final two members are a couple, one has just got a new job (in Sydney - where we want to go!) so they will be moving away in a couple of months. We are the only ones nothing exciting is happening to.

I don't even have cute stories from Uni to tell any more. Nothing to contribute.

Arg, I'll try not to be so morose and negative.

  1. Ah no! Don't think like that Natalie! You set the trend with 'big news' a few months back with starting up uni - now everyone else is just trying to catch up and compete! :P

But seriously, knowing it's easier said than done, try not to compare yourself to others. They're sharing all their positive news, but think about all the stress and worry and negatives they must have had before that - how long to wait before telling people about being pregnant? - the worry about 'will I find anything' in terms of a job? - getting approval to renovate - can we afford it?

Urgh... my tummy is turning just thinking about all of it. So don't fret about not having 'big news'. You can always keep working on your fitness goals and share your new personal bests :)

  2. I know it's hard when it seems like everyone else has something exciting to share and you don't. I second @Sunny Duckling - try not to compare yourself with others. I know that is easier said than done.

  3. Going to school was pretty big, and your time will come with other things! :)
